Qari mashkia displaying pure sunni taqiyya
In the video above, the sunni qari(in the white clothes) desperately tried to mock shia students and the shia belief of taqiyya by quoting a hadith from Kitab al Kafi which showed that(a brief summary of the hadith) Imam Ja'far al Sadiq(as) praised Abu Hanifa in his presence, but when he(Abu Hanifa) left, the Imam(as)'s companion asked him(as) as to why he praised Abu Hanifa to which the Imam(as) explained that he(as) was actually subtly mocking him. The desperate qari tried to mock the young shia students by suggesting that Imam(as) displayed hypocrisy(may Allah(swt) forbid) and this is what the shia madhab teaches.
What is ironic is that this qari has actually compiled a book listing the gradings of the ahadith in Kafi, and the hadith he quoted has been graded unauthentic! So either the qari was too drunk to realize what he is quoting or he resorted to pure sunni taqiyya(which consists of openly lying) because he knew that he is among naive young students and his pure sunni taqiyya will not be exposed. Anyhow, here is the proof from his own book that the hadith he quoted was unauthentic.
It isn't really Taqiyyah. Sunnis always do this, they quote weak hadeeth to prove their point. That is why No shee`ah should do a debate with a Sunni, unless they know `ilm al-rijaal and `ilm al-hadeeth. Once you master those two subjects in Shee`ah islaam, debating a Sunni, would be a piece of cake.
ReplyDeleteSo it means Imam Jaffar did praise Imam Abu Hanifa,without doing any Taqqiya?It would mean that or it never ever happened?
ReplyDeleteWhy all the Imams used to do Taqqiya execpt Imam Hussain?
I heard because of this Qari many Shias became Sunnis.Is it true?
@Anonymous:
ReplyDeleteIf a hadith is da'eef then it is probable that the report is false, perhaps a fabrication. So that may mean either the event didn't occur or occurred in a different manner, not necessarily in the opposite manner. We don't have any ahadith praising abu hanifa (in fact we have ones condemning him) which would suggest that abu hanifa was being genuinely praised.
As for the Imams(as) after Imam Hussain(as) doing taqiyya, although the Imams(as) do what is best and we must follow them but anyhow, a probable reason seems that Imam Hussain(as) fully saved Islam at Karbala although he(as) may appear to have lost. Before Karbala, especially during the tenure of bakr, umar; there was no separation of state and religion. But the event of Karbala brought about a revolution and the Islamic empire saw a complete separation of religion and state. So therefore, the latter Imams(as) didn't have to wage war to protect Islam since the Islamic affairs were no longer in the hands of the rulers. They(as) then did what was best, i.e. taught religion and waged their scholarly jihad.
As for this qari converting shias to sunnis, I don't know anything about this qari. Someone posted this video on shiachat forum of which I'm a member, so I just made a blog post about it. So I don't have information about that.
