Bid'ah (innovation in religion), allowed?

Is bid'ah (innovation) in religion allowed? Is there any such thing as bid'ah al husna (the good innovation)? Let us see what ahadith say.

Kafi

A group among our companions, from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Isa, from Ali b. al Hakam, from Umar b. Aban al Kalbi, from Abul Raheem al Qaseer from abi Abdullah (as) who said: Said Rasool Allah (pbuh): "Every bid'ah is misguidance/deviance, and every misguidance/deviance is in the fire."

Shaikh Mufid's views regarding ahlul bid'ah (people of innovation in religion).

Awail al Maqalat

16 - The saying (ruling) about the people of bid'ah (innovation in religion) and what they deserve upon it from the titles and rulings.

And the Imamis have agreed upon that the people of bid'ah (innovation in religion), all of them, are kuffar (disbelievers), and that it is upon the imam (leader) to handle/control them when possible after da'wah (call to righteousness) to them and establishment of proofs upon them, so if they repent from their bid'ah and come/become to righteousness and otherwise kill them for turning back/apostatizing from the eeman (righteous belief/faith), and that whoever died from them upon those bid'ahs so he is from people of the fire. And the mu'tazila have agreed upon opposite of that, and they assume that most of the people of bid'ah are sinners but not with kuffar, and that in them whoever does not sin by bid'ah and does not leave by it from the Islam as the murji'a from the people of ibn Shabib and the batris from the zaydis are similar to them in the principle although opposed to them about attributes of the imam (leader).
